THE ART OF DJING: core principles

The Art of DJing is the first masterclass of the new educational series created in collaboration between Digital Renaissance Music Institute and DJ Corner Dubai.

This two-hour introductory session is designed for aspiring DJs and electronic music enthusiasts who want to understand the fundamentals of modern DJ performance using professional AlphaTheta CDJ systems — the industry standard found in clubs and festivals worldwide.

During the masterclass, participants will learn the core principles of DJing, including track selection, beatmatching, phrasing, and the structure of a DJ set. The session will also explore how DJs read the energy of a crowd, build momentum on the dancefloor, and develop a personal style behind the decks.

The workshop is structured as a practical and educational introduction to the craft of DJing, offering students the opportunity to experience a professional club-style setup while understanding the creative and technical skills required to perform.
