We teach students to apply creative methodologies & heuristic strategies that help unlock artistic potential and generate original ideas. Students are also trained in applied research methods — developing critical listening, contextual awareness, and the ability to reflect on their own cultural background as a source of creative insight. The curriculum integrates advanced analog and digital technologies across the full music creation cycle — from production & distribution to audience engagement.

Admissions
The admission process starts with a simple first step — sending in your application. For short courses and core programmes, that’s all you need. For professional programmes we’ll ask you also to submit a portfolio, and join us for a short interview.
These steps help us understand your background and ensure you’re ready for sustained learning, collaborative projects, and creative challenges — the kind of work that defines our long-term programs.

Fees & Scholarships
The total cost of studying consists of three components: a membership fee, a registration fee and a KHDA approved tuition fee. This structure ensures transparency and flexibility, with fees varying depending on the format and duration of the chosen program.

Membership Fee is a monthly fee applied to all courses and programmes. It covers students’ access to the Institute’s facilities and professional equipment throughout the prepaid month.
Registration Fee is a one-time fee applicable only to Professional Programmes. It covers the cost of the admissions process, including the applicant’s portfolio review and admissions interview.
Discounts & Scholarships
We offer a flexible discount system of up to 20% for partial or full tuition fee prepayment.
From time to time, we offer individual scholarships to newly admitted students. These scholarships are awarded through a competitive application process and may cover either partial or full tuition fees. If you’re passionate, original, and committed — we want to hear your voice. FAQs
Camps are intensive 1–2 week interdisciplinary labs that introduce participants to every creative discipline at DRMI through real projects, collaborative experimentation, and mentor-led practice instead of traditional classroom learning. Beginner-friendly.
Short courses focus on specific skills or tools and are beginner-friendly, with no admission interview or assessment required.
Core Programmes are beginner-friendly 3-month learning journeys built around the three essential disciplines within each subject area. With no admission assessment required, they give students a fast, focused, and powerful start — allowing them to explore the discipline before committing to deeper professional training. Unlike Professional Programmes, Core Programmes focus only on structured learning not on portfolio development.
Professional Programmes provide a comprehensive 9-month learning experience for students seeking a deeper understanding of their chosen discipline. Combining advanced study with project-based practice, the programmes culminate in a professional portfolio, the release of original work, and a final public showcase. Admission is by interview to ensure that students are prepared for the intensity and collaborative nature of the programme.
While our programmes are primarily designed for adult learners, we are always happy to welcome highly motivated teenagers who are comfortable learning alongside adult students. This is something we see regularly.

We provide student visa support for international students enrolled in 9-month Professional programs and who have completed all required payments. The visa is valid for one year. To begin the visa process, students must submit:
- A completed visa application form
- A passport copy (valid for at least 6 months)
- A passport-sized color photo
- Proof of valid health insurance compliant with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) standards
- Any additional documents requested by the admissions team
Students are required to maintain valid medical insurance throughout their stay. Our admissions office will support you through the visa application process and provide guidance at every step.
For Camps, Short courses or Core programmes simply send your application via the course page — no portfolio or interview is required. For the 9-month Professional Programmes, applicants are required to submit a portfolio, followed by an interview.
All our courses are designed with flexibility in mind: classes are held on weekday evenings, typically from 7 PM to 10 PM — making it possible to balance your studies with work or other commitments.
Yes — all students have access to professional tools and facilities, including Production Pods and the Recording Studio, for both scheduled sessions and independent work.
Yes—but only in our Professional Programmes. Students develop a professional portfolio through long-term creative projects, original releases, and a series of public showcases. Core Programmes are focused on learning the fundamentals and do not include portfolio development.
Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive a certificate issued by Digital Renaissance Music Institute, approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
