Course Overview
This Pro Tools Intensive is designed for aspiring audio engineers, and producers who want to master the industry standard DAW for audio recording, editing, mixing, mastering, film post-production and broadcast. Whether you’re stepping into the studio for the first time or transitioning from another DAW, this course teaches you how to confidently record, edit, and mix using AVID Pro Tools.
You will have access to our campus facilities, including computers and full equipment setup, or you can join remotely from home with your own setup.

Course structure
Explore the user interface, create a new session, set I/O, and organize tracks.
Learn mic input setup, track arming, click track, and capturing takes using playlists.
Cut, trim, nudge, fade, and crossfade using Smart Tool and Edit Modes.
Compose with Xpand!2, Boom, and third-party plugins; quantize and edit MIDI data.
Use Elastic Audio to manipulate timing and pitch without losing quality.
Use playlists for alternate takes and comp the best performances.
Use EQs, reverbs, and delays; route with aux tracks and submixes.
Automate volume, panning, effects; optimize workflow using memory locations and markers.
Finalize mixes, export files, and prepare stems for mastering or collaboration.
Review the whole course and get feedback on final project.
Requirements
- Beginner Friendly. No prior Pro Tools experience required
- Computer with Pro Tools Intro (free) or Pro Tools Studio installed (in case of online learning with home setup)
- Audio Interface with a Studio Monitors or Headphones (in case of online learning with home setup)
