Develop coordination between your picking and fretting hands through simple exercises. Practice rhythmic improvisation on one string and start building control and dexterity.

Explore tonal variations on the fretboard by learning how different finger placements affect the sound. Study the major scale layout along one string and practice recognizing scale degrees by ear and touch.

Practice simple strumming techniques and rhythmic patterns. Learn to play popular songs based on one, two, or three chords (inspired by Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, etc.). Participate in basic group improvisation exercises.

Expand your fretboard knowledge by learning major scales across two strings. Introduction to the concept of musical modes — what they are, how they sound, and how they can be applied.

Strengthen your memory of the fretboard by applying major modes in improvisation. Practice switching between modes and explore how different scales create different emotional colors in music.

Dive into the history of blues music and learn the pentatonic scale and its variations. Begin constructing simple blues motifs and licks using the pentatonic structure.

Analyze and practice short blues solos and phrases from classic blues artists (e.g., Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Rolling Stones). Study expressive techniques like bends, slides, and hammer-ons.
